Expert Advice from a Registered Dietitian

Glenda Garcia is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Educator. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2006 and has been working in the field of chronic disease prevention and management since 2008.
Glenda believes in a client-centered approach to care, focusing on working collaboratively with her clients to formulate practical and sustainable approaches to health. By establishing caring and supportive relationships, Glenda empowers and inspires clients to take an active role in their own health. Nutrition is presented in a manner that supports wellness and growth of body, mind, and spirit. Clients are encouraged to view food not only as a means of achieving health, but also as a vehicle to enjoying life.
In her own life, Glenda strives to achieve balance through healthy nutrition, a regular practice of yoga and meditation, creative expression, and love of finding joy in every moment. She is solid in her belief that the best way to lead others is by example, and thus is committed to maintaining personal whole health and a positive and supportive attitude. Her passion for health, wellness, and food has led her to live, work, and travel around the globe, gaining insight, knowledge, and experience which she integrates into her practice.  As an accomplished cook, she relishes in guiding others to the pleasures of exploring and enjoying delicious and nutritious food.  
In addition to maintaining a private nutrition counseling practice, Glenda collaborates with government and not-for-profit community organizations. She hosts community cooking classes specializing in: vegan and vegetarian cooking, gluten-free and dairy-free cooking, cooking for allergies and food sensitivities, functional healing foods, and ethnic foods from around the world.
